In 2021, Rotary Rajmahal Vilas was the only Rotary club and one of 9 NGOs out of 200 wards in Bangalore to win a grant of Rs. 50 lakhs from the Directorate of Urban Land Transport – Government of Karnataka, for the implementation of projects for sustainable mobility and transport.

In the first phase, we conducted 300 household surveys by Feb 2021, in Wards 18 & 19 (Sanjaynagar and RMV).

In March 2021, during the second phase, we conducted focus group discussions in six categories: women, children, differently-abled, senior citizens, BPL citizens, and citizens who come from other areas to work in Sanjaynagar.

The upcoming task is to finalise the projects, plans and estimates, with the help of DULT by July 2021, after which the project will be implemented over nine months with funding from DULT. This project, on completion, we envisage will be greatly beneficial to the public in these areas. It will also bolster our public image in the Sanjaynagar and RMV areas and will set the stage for future bigger grants for our Club and the Welfare Trust.
