Rotary’s First Gender Neutral Comfort Station Project in India, Work Commencement on 5th Dec 2024
Rotary’s extraordinary and one-of-a-kind venture: Rotary Bangalore Rajmahal Vilas in collaboration with Sulabh International, commenced work on the First Rotary Gender-Neutral Comfort Station Project in our country at Majestic Bus Station (opp. to Upparpet Police Station), Bengaluru on 5th December 2024. This historic project is among the first in India reflecting a significant step toward inclusivity and accessibility in the city for the Gender-Neutral Community. We are Grateful to IPDG Rtn Srinivas Murthy for conceiving and conceptualizing the idea of Neutral Gender Comfort Stations The task was initiated by the Late Rtn Dr Anita Shah AG & District Director DEI, Past President RB Rajmahal Vilas with planning and execution from inception by Rtn Kirti Mehta Past President and Head Projects RB Rajmahal Vilas. The work on this special project was presided over by our IPDG (2023-24), RI District 3192, Rtn Srinivas Murthy symbolizing Rotary’s dedication to promoting Diversity, Equity, and inclusion, in public infrastructure.
The project is supported by Rtn Manoj Aggarwal District Director of International Service and Multi Donors, especially from Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar and friends and relatives of the Late Rtn Dr Anita Shah.
